Our Juneau Street Resilience Pod garden club is a community group of neighbors and plant lovers who get together on a regular basis to volunteer and build activities centered around our neighborhood.

Activities of the garden club include:
Developing and growing our community garden
Right now, our garden plot along the Chief Sealth Trail and Juneau Street is still in its infancy. (Currently, we’re in conversation about the stewardship of this plot with Seattle City Light.) In the coming year, we are looking to do things such as clear out blackberry bushes and put in beds. The garden club spearheads the efforts around developing this unused patch of land into a thriving food-growing space where neighbors congregate and socialize.
Growing food communally
The garden club serves as a connector and organizer for garden activities such as seed and plant swaps, work parties, harvest days, and more. In the future, we want to use our community garden to help reduce food insecurity and help people eat more fruits and vegetables.
Fostering learning opportunities
We know that gardening can be intimidating to folks who are unfamiliar with growing plants. A goal of the garden club is to create spaces for learning — through our events, zines, workshops, and more.
