Coming Soon: Our Pod Safety Plan
Here at the Juneau Street Resilience Pod, we’re putting together something important — our neighborhood’s Pod Safety Plan, for what to do (and where to go) when things get tough — such as during big storms, power outages, or other unexpected weather events. Once completed, this plan will explain how we stay connected, support each other, and get the help we need.
What will be in the safety plan?
This plan will lay out basic support and various neighborhood-based resources we can all access during climate-related emergencies, as well as how we’re connected to broader response efforts in Beacon Hill and across the city.
In the plan, you’ll find:
- Signs — Whether you need a “WE’RE OK” or a “HELP” sign for your window, we’ve got you.
- Meeting Spots and Maps — So that we know where to connect in the event of an emergency
- Neighborhood coordination — Information for supporting seniors, folks with mobility needs, and anyone who might need a hand.
- Resources lists for go-bags — Lists of important items that you may need when you need to quickly leave your home during emergencies.
When will the plan be ready?
We’re diligently working on this document (through interviews, research, and more) and it will roll out at the end of the year (or early next year). We may even celebrate with a little kickoff at our winter gathering so join our mailing list to get the latest updates.
