The Juneau Street Resilience Pod self-publishes bi-annual zines centered on topics of emergency and climate preparedness, to educate and inform through art and storytelling. These zines are created in collaboration with commissioned local artists — the artists create some of the pages, and our neighbors create the rest!
Every six months, the theme for the zines changes. Information for the zines come from preparedness information from our local government, universities, and others doing research on these topics. Our neighbors contribute pages to the zines by interpreting this information in artistic ways.
Zine-making parties
Opportunities to take part in zine-making will be available throughout the year at our annual events, where there will be an area with art supplies set aside for zine-making. After the event, we’ll collect pages created by our neighbors and will review and then digitize them in order to add them to the current zine.
